The 3rd International Glacial Archaeology Symposium “Frozen Pasts” will be jointly hosted by the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Government of Yukon at the new Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon, on June 3 – 8, 2012. The 2012 conference will highlight the discoveries of North American glacial archaeologists and showcase the opening of a major new Yukon First Nation Cultural Centre featuring an exhibit of ice patch discoveries from the Kwanlin Dün traditional territory. The conference keynote address is by Professor Albert Zink, Head of EURAC – Institute for Mummies and the Iceman who will be speaking about recent investigations of Ötzi  – the Tyrolean Iceman.
