Welcome to the Kwanlin Dün’s cultural home!
Situated on the banks of the Yukon River, the Cultural Centre is a place where we celebrate the heritage and contemporary way of life of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation people. It is also a gathering place for people of all cultures.
JOIN US on Tuesday, June 21st for National Aboriginal Day! With live music and dancing, a first nations craft fair, kid’s activities, arctic sport workshops and hand games, storytelling, and the Northwestel Solstice Feast, there’s something for the whole family. Events kick off at 12 noon, but you can also join us after work or school to enjoy dinner from one of our local food vendors and a fantastic line-up of evening entertainment, running until 8:00pm.
A cultural experience for everyone
The vision of the Cultural Centre is to revive, preserve, and demonstrate our language, practices, values and traditional way of life for the benefit of Kwanlin Dün people. We also want to share our culture with other First Nations and people from around the world.
We organize events, host exhibits and offer interpretive material for all cultures to enjoy. We wish for people to learn about our culture through the sharing of our stories, art, music and traditional food.
A gathering place for all
As our ancestors did for thousands of years, we welcome visitors from near and afar to gather in our cultural home to share stories and experiences.
If you are looking for a place to host your event, the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is one of the largest meeting facilities in Whitehorse.
We offer an ideal and picturesque location suitable for conferences, galas, cultural festivals and memorable weddings.
We look forward to your visit. Please contact us if you would like to explore how you can host your event in our beautiful facility.
